Help or Search Tips

Many databases have help or "search tips." You can use HELP pages to improve your skills in using databases to search for information. In most cases, a HELP button is available from the initial screen, providing a general explanation of how the database works. See the examples below:

Most databases provide comprehensive Help guides to support students. Help links or icons are typically placed at the top of the screen as in the example above.

In addition to online HELP you can always ask a librarian for assistance.
