Types of Resources in Databases

Some databases include only one type of publication such as periodicals. An example would be Newspaper Source Plus.   Other databases may include a variety of materials such as periodical articles, essays, photos, videos and other media. An example would be SIRS Knowledge Source (SIRS Researcher).

Some databases, such as Opposing Viewpoints in Context, include primarily popular sources such as magazine and newspaper articles, as well as essays from books.   Other databases include more scholarly materials such as conference proceedings, research reports, and journal articles. An example would be Academic Search Premier.
