Tips to Use When Looking for Books

When you've located the book on the shelf, check the table of contents (at the front) and index (at the back) for the information that you need. Skimming these two sections will help you to decide if the book will be helpful to you.

Also be sure to browse other books on the shelf while you are there. Often you'll find additional books on your subject nearby that you may not have seen in the library's online catalog.
