Look for Visual and Auditory Clues
You professor will sometimes signal that something is important. This can take the form of a number of things, such as:
- Emphasizing words
- Modulating their voice up or down or increasing their volume
- Using hand gestures to emphasize specific words or phrases
- Writing words or phrases on the white board
- Pointing to specific words or phrases on the PowerPoint
- Bolding or underlining words on the PowerPoint or on the whiteboard
