Some Clues That Help You Figure out What to Write

Look for Visual and Auditory Clues

You professor will sometimes signal that something is important.  This can take the form of a number of things, such as:

  • Emphasizing words
  • Modulating their voice up or down or increasing their volume
  • Using hand gestures to emphasize specific words or phrases
  • Writing words or phrases on the white board
  • Pointing to specific words or phrases on the PowerPoint
  • Bolding or underlining words on the PowerPoint or on the whiteboard
