CCC Library - Online Tour

Stop Q

The CURRENT PERIODICAL STANDS are between the Reference Desk and the windows. These 2-sided units house the most recent issues of the Library's print magazine and journal subscriptions.

  • The current issues are shelved face-out in alphabetical order by title. (A few popular titles are kept on Reserve at the Circulation Desk.) Current issues are for library-use only.
  • The angled display shelf is a hatch. Lift upwards to see the older issues for the same magazine or journal. The number of older issues stored varies, depending on how often a title is published. Older issues can be checked out of the Library.

If you need an issue that is older than what you find, check with the reference librarian. Some titles may be contained in one of the library's online databases, or stored behind the Circulation Desk, or on microfilm, or bound in volumes (like books) and stored behind the Circulation Desk. Bound volumes must be used in the Library; the other back issues may be checked out for home use.
